  • COMMUNION OF REPARATION ON FIRST SATURDAYS

"FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONALS"

Following Our Lady of Fatima’s six apparitions in 1917, she again appeared to Sister Lucia on December 10, 1925. She came expressly to request Communion of Reparation on First Saturdays, commonly known as "First Saturday Devotionals.” Our Lady promised to assist all those who practice the devotional with the graces necessary for salvation at the hour of their death.

During the apparition, Our Lady described in detail the devotion which was to be practiced every first Saturday for five consecutive months with the intention of making reparation for offenses committed against the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In Sister Lucia's accounts of the 1925 apparition, Our Lady said:

“Tell them that I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the first Saturday of five successive months, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.”

At Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Lakewood, First Saturday Devotionals will follow 8:15am Mass every first Saturday. Please go to our Events Calendar at our parish website for details about upcoming First Saturday Devotionals. To prepare, you are invited to learn how to precisely fulfill the devotional from the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA.

On October 13,1947, more than 150,000 Fatima pilgrims witnessed the blessing of this image of Our Lady by the Bishop of Leiria at Fatima, Portugal as he commissioned it to serve as the Pilgrim Virgin who would carry the blessings of Fatima and Our Lady’s message throughout the world to the many millions of her children who would never have an opportunity to visit Fatima.

The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue has traveled the world visiting more than 100 countries, bringing the great message of salvation and of hope to countless millions of people. On September 20, 2017 the statue was hosted at Our Lady of Fatima Parish on the Fatima Tour for Peace.

  • IMMACULATE HEART OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA STATUE - 2015 visit

In September 2015, Our Lady of Fatima Parish and Catholic School hosted the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Fatima Statue. The purpose of the statue tour was to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady's message of hope, peace and salvation to the many people who may never have an opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima itself. Checkout photos from the blessed statue's visit in the Fatima Gallery.

The Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Fatima Statue is the image of Our Lady as she appeared to Sr. Lucia, the eldest of the three shepherd children, during her 1929 apparition in Tuy, Spain. During this apparition, Our Lady requested the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart. This statue was blessed by Pope Francis on October 23, 2013, ten days after his consecration of the world to Our Lady of Fatima on October 13. It was formally introduced at the 2014 March for Life in Washington, D.C. Read more about the statue at World Apostolate of Fatima.
